Activities at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge

Itinerary

Day 1:            From our departure point in the charming seacoast town of Seward, board a small ship bound for Kenai Fjords National Park – home to an array of glaciers and marine wildlife such as whales, Steller sea lions, sea otters, puffins and more! A wildlife and glacier cruise will allow us to explore the rugged coastlines of the spectacular Kenai Fjords. Enjoy lunch in front of a tidewater glacier before arriving at our exclusive remote destination: Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge.

Nestled in a protected tidal lagoon area, the Glacier Lodge offers miles of pristine beachfront and incredible views of Pedersen Glacier. This afternoon, meet your guides for an orientation and settle into your private cabin. Enjoy dinner and evening presentations, or take a stroll along the coastline and beachcomb for natural treasures like sea glass. Overnight at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge. (L,D)

Day 2 & beyond:
After breakfast in the main lodge, choose from a wide array of activities to suit your energy level and interests. Guided options may include interpretive nature walks, sea kayaking, or exploring the lagoon by canoe. All activities are suitable for beginners and require no previous experience.

For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the lodge offers ideal comfort within direct views of nature. Curious sea otters and seals frequent the lagoon just steps from the main lodge deck. In a nearby meadow, we can sometimes glimpse bears and other wildlife from a safe distance. Our natural history library offers amazing resources and interesting reads – cozy up with a good book and let your worries drift out with the tide!

In the evening, share stories from your day’s adventure with other guests and join an evening natural history presentation, given by local expert guides or guest speakers. Overnight at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge. (B,L,D)

Final Day:     Savor another morning in the wilds of Kenai Fjords National Park; kayak, canoe or beachcomb for a half-day before boarding our boat for the return wildlife cruise to Seward. En route, enjoy another opportunity to photograph the sheer cliffs of the fjords, scan for birdlife and seek out marine wildlife. We arrive in the Seward Harbor in the early evening. Dinner and transfers not included in trip price. (B,L)

Note: variations in schedule may be offered at time of booking.

We do not expect any major changes from this schedule. However, in the spirit of adventure, we allow our itinerary to remain flexible so that we may take advantage of spontaneous events.
