Begich, Boggs Visitor Center for Portage Glacier: This Visitor Center is built upon terminal moraine left behind by Portage Glacier in 1914. The Visitor Center offers a unique opportunity to learn about the Chugach National Forest, America's second largest national forest. Whitewater Rafting
Chugach Outdoor Center: Sixmile Creek is a whitewater paradise just 60 miles from Anchorage. Dropping over 50 feet per mile as it flows out of the Chugach Mountains, Sixmile Creek has cut its way through three separate canyons to offer exciting Class IV and V whitewater.
