Getting There

Seward: Gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park

Located roughly 2 ½ hours south of Anchorage, the small community of Seward, Alaska acts as the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Boat access to Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge departs from the Seward Harbor; this transfer to the Glacier Lodge doubles as a marine wildlife and glacier cruise in Kenai Fjords National Park. Here, further your exploration of the Kenai Fjords with guided sea kayaking and hiking excursions.

To ensure our guests are rested and ready for the morning departure to the Glacier Lodge, we recommend booking accommodations in Seward the night prior to your Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge package. An evening in Seward offers the chance to experience small town Alaskan life; browse the charming shops of “downtown,” enjoy a hearty meal of fresh-caught halibut down by the harbor or stretch your legs on a hike to nearby Exit Glacier.

Getting There

Departing from Anchorage, drive south on the New Seward Highway for 130 miles.

Seward is also accessible by the Alaska Railroad; for train scheduling and fares, please visit www.akrr.com.

Many Alaska cruises conclude in Seward; a stay at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge is an excellent complement to a cruise vacation.
